Choosing a hotel when you are away from home is a very personal thing, and it depends on many different factors. Firstly, what budget you are operating under, then if it is for business or pleasure, and why you are looking for a hotel. For instance, if you are on a shopping trip then you would be seeking a hotel in the city center close to all the malls. If you were on business attending a conference then it would make perfect sense to stay at the same hotel the conference is held. But if you are on holiday, then it what amenities appeals to you most. For those people who like glitz and glamour then perhaps this blog can assist, as we check into the World’s Biggest Hotels.  In no particular order here are some of the most over-the-top resorts, adorned with thousands of rooms, shopping malls, and more swimming pools than you can possibly shake a stick at.

The Venetian and the Palazzo – Las Vegas

Las Vegas at its most ostentatious, building a replica of part of Venice in the desert in Nevada takes some nerve, but that is exactly what InterContinental Resorts have done.  Located in the heart of the famous Las Vegas Strip, the resort offers all suite accommodation. Plus, exquisite restaurants owned by world renown chefs, superb entertainment and the Canyon Ranch Spa Club –   which is a five-acre pool and garden wonderland. There are a massive 7,117 rooms, 40 restaurants, 10 swimming pools and 90 treatment rooms. Bling hardly describes the Venetian it is not nearly expressive enough.

First World Hotel – Malaysia

The First World Hotel was entered into the Guinness world record books in 2006 for being the largest hotel in the world. Subsequently it lost its title to the Venetian when it opened in 2008. But not to be outdone, the First World Hotel added another 1,223 rooms to once again hold the crown in 2015. The two towers of the hotel contain 7,351 rooms, and features a lifestyle mall with retail outlets and many restaurants.

Sands Cotai Central – Macau

There seems quite a gambling connection to our list as yet another of our grandeur hotels is located in a casino heaven. Really the Sands Cotai is four hotels under one banner as situated there are the St Regis, Conrad, Sheraton and a Holiday Inn. The four hotels have a combination of 6,000 rooms, and each hotel has its own spa and pool. As you expect with four of the biggest hotel chains in operation here there are a plethora of dining and shopping experiences on offer as well as outdoor music and acrobatic displays nightly. At the center of the Sands Cotai is 17,000 sqm of gaming space.

These three mammoth hotels are undoubtedly some of the largest in the world. Their amenities state-of-the-art, and the levels of service beyond comparison.
